From MSP:
Racing 2 Save Lives Prepares for Return to Miller Motorsports Park
TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (April 11, 2007) — Motorcycle enthusiasts from Utah and surrounding states will have an opportunity to ride their bikes on one of America’s most challenging racetracks, and support a worthy cause at the same time, when Racing 2 Save Lives (R2SL) returns to Miller Motorsports Park over the weekend of May 3-6.
R2SL is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children's charities by raising awareness, involvement, and capital within the motorcycle racing community through donations, corporate sponsorship and fund-raising events. All profits generated by R2SL are distributed among carefully selected organizations who have a significant impact on the lives of children-in-need, and their families.
Last year, R2SL attracted a record 350 participants and raised $65,000, half of which was distributed through Larry H. Miller Charities, and $27,000 of which went directly to the Tooele and Grantsville school districts.
This year, R2SL expects significant increases in both participants and donations, according to executive director Stan Foxworthy.
“We had such a terrific response last year,” he said, “and the facility at Miller Motorsports Park is just phenomenal. We’ve been contacted by a lot of riders who heard what a great event it was in 2006, and they’re planning to be here this year, so we’re looking forward to a big jump in both riders and donations.”

World Superbike Valencia Previews |

From Various Sources:
Yamaha looking for more wins going into the fourth round at Valencia
The Ricardo Tormo Circuit will host its first international race of the season this coming weekend, with the fourth round of the World Superbike Championship coming to this popular track for its eighth consecutive year.
Valencia is a tight and twisty circuit built with spectators in mind. The venue was designed to be a 'circuit within a stadium' and this has been achieved with over 65,000 grandstand seats that allow spectators to view the track, and the action on it, from the one position. The popularity of this circuit is evident, with over 3 million spectators visiting since its opening in 1999.
Valencia's complicated track, excellent facilities and favourable winter weather conditions make this circuit ideal for all kinds of racing. It is in demand by national and international championships and is not restricted to just motorcycles. Everything from trucks to Formula One cars use this circuit which means that grip levels can be unpredictable, causing conditions to change by the hour and requiring constant adjustments to the set-up of the bike.
Pirelli held their official tyre test here in March, with Yamaha's World Superbike, Supersport and Superstock teams all taking part. The data gathered at this test could be of a big help to put all the Yamaha teams in a good position for their race set-up this weekend.
The last round at Donington saw Haga take the team's first win of the season, showing the potential of the new R1. This was supported by Corser's second and third finishes. Haga goes into the fourth round in third place in the championship standings with 88 points with Corser just behind on 81 points. Both riders want to win at this round, so the gloves will be off from the outset.
In 2006 Haga claimed two fifth places in Valencia but as he has won here previously in 2000 and 2004, he is keen to add another race win to his one from Donington. "Valencia is one of my favourite circuits and I have won there before," he says. "It is a technically challenging circuit though, and chassis and tyre set-up are very important there. With the testing we have done there recently with Pirelli I am hopeful. After winning at Donington I am feeling very positive and looking forward to winning again!"

From R2SL:
MOTOCZYSZ 07 C1 990 TO TAKE TO THE TRACK WITH RACING 2 SAVE LIVES
DENVER – Participants in the fourth annual Racing 2 Save Lives track-day event will have the unique opportunity to witness the first public on-track appearance of the newest MotoCzysz prototype racebike. Michael Czysz, the man behind the revolutionary motorcycle, will ride the bike at R2SL on May 3-6 at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.
The MotoCzysz 07 C1 990 is the latest development of the bike that Czysz hopes will return an American manufacturer to international road racing to compete for a world championship. Czysz and yet-to-be-confirmed guest riders will ride the bike in selected track sessions during all four days of R2SL, which will mark the 07 C1 990’s first-ever public appearance on any circuit.
Racing 2 Save Lives, a four-day festival of track days and other activities to raise funds for children’s charities, is open to riders of all skill levels, even to those who have never participated in a track-day event. Experienced staff from ApexTrackDays and Madison Racing will be on hand to provide riding and safety instruction at no charge to riders who are new to the track environment. Registration for R2SL at Miller Motorsports Park is now open at www.racing2savelives.org.
In 2006, R2SL donated more than $65,000.00 to its designated charities. This year, Racing 2 Save Lives expands to two venues, adding a second event at VIRginia International Raceway on August 14-17.
Racing 2 Save Lives is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children's charities by raising awareness, involvement, and capital within the motorcycle racing community through donations, corporate sponsorship and fundraising events.

Good to hear Troy is doing well, while not a Ducati fan, how can you not like this bloke.
From Ducati:
BAYLISS RETURNS HOME TO MONTE CARLO AFTER OPERATION
Bologna (Italy), Tuesday 3 April 2007: Ducati Xerox Team rider Troy Bayliss has returned to his Monte Carlo home following an operation on his injured hand on Sunday afternoon in the UK.
The Australian had a weekend of ups and downs at Donington Park. First on Friday he celebrated his 38th birthday, on Saturday he set pole position and then he high-sided out at Coppice on lap 6 of the first race on Sunday. He was taken to the Clinica Mobile in the circuit, but doctors decided to send him to the nearby Derbyshire Royal Infirmary for immediate surgery. The operation consisted of the removal of the top two bones (intermediate and distal phalanges) of the little finger of his right hand. During the crash Troy had also received a powerful blow in the groin region and due to concerns, specialists at the Derby hospital also carried out checks in that area before giving him the OK to leave.
Troy was discharged late on Monday afternoon and flew back to Monte Carlo.
Troy Bayliss is now resting at home and he will undergo a reassessment of his injuries on Friday. Race regulations require a further medical check on Thursday of next week before Troy can be declared fit to race, but all signs point to the Australian being able to return to the track for the next round of the World Superbike championship at Valencia on April 13-15.
